In October 2005, I approached Marisha Scott (Illustrator) and Kamilah Duggins (Author) with an idea to write a book for middle readers (8-12 yrs old) about children under 18 who have done remarkable things to transform their communities or society.
I figured... I need to add what Naima & Alixa did before they turned 19 too.
