Biggest Project of my life... to date.

Where have I been? GRINDING! Why?... Read.

Besides ushering in my 29th birthday (June 19th), this June is "Do the Right Thing's" 20th Anniversary. A tribute to Spike Lee, from the residents whom he has so beautifully depicted, is long overdue.

Spike Lee put Brooklyn on the map. Brooklyn Honors Spike Lee (Where's Mars?) is a multi-faceted tribute that invites the 5 Boroughs, and the world, to celebrate the breadth and scope of Lee’s work and educate them about the impact he has had on popular culture. Through collaborations with respected Brooklyn entities, Brooklyn Honors Spike Lee sets a standard in innovation comparable to the quality and integrity of the cultural contributions demonstrated by the icon.

Dates: Thursday, June 25 - Sunday, June 28, 2009

Brooklyn Honors Spike Lee includes the following events:

  • We’ve Gotta Have It!: Art Inspired by Spike Lee
  • The Man and the Brand: Spike Lee Panel
  • Buggin’ Out: Poetry Inspired by Spike Lee
  • He Got Game: Father & Son Basketball Tournament
  • Do The Spike Thing: A Block Party
